Beijing, 29th August-The Thai traditional music announced the beginning of Muaythai at Sportaccord Combat Games 2010 Beijing. Muaythai, which is regarded as the ultimate combat, has a deep bond with the Thai traditional culture and profound link with religion. Ceremonies, such as apprenticeship to a master, combat courtesy and Thai dancing, are the demonstration of Thai’s rich religious art. One deceased Muaythai master once said: Muaythai is the treasure of all the Thai people. Nowadays, Muaythai enjoys a striking popularity across the world.
The first combat of Muaythai was Men’s 54kg Quarter Final. Malaysian athlete YAAKUB MA swept the table against Iran’s MADAI M. with the prayer of the music, Malaysian athlete quickly got into his position after the fathom in first round. His precise hit knocked the Iranian in the third round.
Spectators’ warm cheers unveiled the curtain of second combat. In Men’s 54kg Quarter Final, LIAO Zhenghui fought with integrity against Thai’s PALEENARAM S. Therefore, the glorious defeat didn’t depress us.
In Men’s 57kg Quarter Final, Chinese Wang Kang hit MADADI B from Kazakhstan mercilessly, which won him a ticket to Semi Final.
1:4, the final score of Men’s 63.5kg Quarter Final, witnessed the defeat of China’s ZHANG Dezheng against Sweden’s AKHTAR. Winner’s powerful kick prevented ZHANG’s chance to enter the Semi Final.
Another ticket for Semi Final was gained by ZHANG Xiaolong from China. His brisk pace and vigilant duck made up for his short height.
